CPA Review Course
When deciding to take the CPA exam to become a Licensed CPA, there are a few decisions that you have to make. First, what CPA review course are you going to use to guide you through the CPA exam process?
The CPA exam is daunting. It is bigger than most people (save other CPA candidates) even realize. Some would even say it is comparable (or worse) than taking the Bar exam. Because the pass rate is so low (usually low 40%), there is a lot of studying and test prep that needs to take place before ever sitting for the CPA exam.
What CPA Review Course will you use?
There are a plethora of different programs available out there. Yeager, Wiley, Becker, Gleim, and Roger, are just a few of the notable programs that offer a CPA review course. Each program has different strengths and weaknesses and each program will help you in different ways. It is advised that you thoroughly research each program to find out which one will suit your needs the best. Each CPA candidate is different in their needs and schedule, so it is imperative to choose a program that compliments your lifestyle and your individual situation as you prepare for the exam.
Some CPA candidates feel they need a classroom setting in order to retain the information being taught. Some programs offer live classes, with instructors and other peers. This is great for those that thrive in classroom environments and that need feedback from others. Others may choose a program that is online or a study at your own pace and convenience type of system. Be sure to look into all programs as you choose your CPA review course. They differ greatly in instructors, test questions and sample tests, textbook styles, and especially in price.
When you choose your CPA review course, be sure to choose a supplemental study guide program as well. This will help to ensure your success in the CPA exam. These are usually very inexpensive, but they offer a great deal of information and guidance through the study process. Usually, these study guides are written by other CPA’s that have taken the exam and draw on their own test passing experience to relate that information to you as the CPA candidate.
